Suzelle Poole Guest Ballet Instructor

Madame Poole has for eleven years been teaching and performing at the Royale Ballet Dance Academy.  As a child she achieved Cecchetti grades under English Ballet Teachers. She professionally danced under the direction of Celia Franca and Betty Oliphant in opera, ballet, radio and pantomime and an award-winning film. Suzelle Poole danced as soloist of the Houston Ballet under the director Madame Tatiana Semenova, pupil of Mathilde Kchessinska. She became her assistant teaching children six to eleven years old at the Houston Ballet Academy. After eight years, she returned to England attending professional ballet classes in London and continued dancing professionally with well-known artists. After moving to South Africa, Madame Poole lectured on music pedagogy at the University of Cape Town.  Currently, Mrs. Poole teaches, choreographs and dances with her students as volunteers at nursing homes with her Poole Ballet. She continues to perform and tours professionally with her dancer partner, Daniel de Cordoba of Bailes Espanoles, Arts Partners and Big Thoughts.  Madame Poole has been featured on BBC’s Amazing Humans  – “The 77-year-old ballerina who inspires others to pursue their dreams”.
