Hailey von Schlehenried Resident Choreographer and Ballet and Contemporary Instructor

Hailey von Schlehenried was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa before moving to Dallas, TX. She has been dancing and studying dance for over 20 years and is a registered ballet teacher with the RAD, a graduate from the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies program. Hailey is the resident choreographer at Royale Ballet Dance Academy where she also teaches ballet, lyrical and contemporary. She has had the pleasure of working with and setting work on dancers from many companies including Texas Ballet Theatre, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, and working with dancers from SMU. Some of her recent work includes an original one act ballet, Ghosts, set to an original score and performed live. Hailey has had the privilege of being selected twice as a project tier choreographer for the Regional Dance America’s National Choreography Intensive where she worked with renowned choreographers Val Caniparoli and Ron K. Brown. Recently, Hailey was selected for the Dawson Project Choreographic Residency in San Jose CA, where she choreographed on the New Ballet studio company. In early 2017 she was the winner of Avant Chamber Ballet’s Women’s Choreographic Project where her piece Yin and Yang was commissioned. Hailey heads the RBDA Company with Ms. Katie where she choreographs for competitions such as YAGP, JUMP, and regional festivals. In addition to teaching and choreographing, Hailey dances flamenco as a guest artist with Daniel de Córdoba’s Bailes Españoles. Hailey has a passion and love for dance and the arts and tries to instill that in her students.
