I am Clara

The Nutcracker 2020

Synopsis

It’s the fall of 2020 and most dance companies have cancelled productions of The Nutcracker in the midst of the global health crisis. Dancers have faced disappointment after disappointment as more events are cancelled every day, goals are reconsidered and dreams are put on hold.  But, one dancer's dreams are her fuel to see the dark time through. As she attends her ballet class, she is inspired to keep her passion alive by her musings of her classmates as characters in The Nutcracker and on what it might be like to dance the role of Clara. When we meet her again a year later in December of 2021, we are reminded that imagination and creativity are more powerful than we could ever imagine.
